Light heavyweight champion Andre Ward retires undefeated

At the age of 33 Andre Ward has decided to retire from the world of fighting as he claims that he cannot do justice to the sport anymore and his body cannot bear the demands of the sport.

Andre wrote on his site the following quotes :

“I want to be clear – I am leaving because my body can no longer put up with the rigors of the sport and therefore my desire to fight is no longer there,” he wrote.

“If I cannot give my family, my team, and the fans everything that I have, then I should no longer be fighting.”

Andre Ward has had a undefeated career with a record of 32 victories, 16 of which where by knockout.

“To the sport of boxing – I love you,”
